Sadly, I will never be this cool. Or this tall.

This is !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , by the way.

“Acceleration is when the tears of emotion run horizontally towards your ears.”

“If you see the tree you run into it means you have understeered. If you hear the tree you oversteered.”

“Oversteering is when the passenger is afraid, understeering is when I am afraid.”

“Drifting is the art of holding an unstable condition stable.”

Think how difficult it was for him to fit inside the Stratos and your envy will be somewhat tempered. (Markku Alén, who is also particularly lanky, had a similar problem too, and, allegedly, the first time he tried one they had to saw off the top of his helmet.)

Years ago I read somewhere that for a long time in his motorsport career Röhrl was an extremely insecure competitor and did not feel particularly fast (which made him try to go faster, of course). The second time he won the Monte Carlo rally (with a Gr4 Ascona, in ‘82), the clerk of the course (Jean-Pierre Nicolas, no less) publicly chastised him during the event for simply not slowing at all even if his advantage kept increasing by leaps and bounds. (See above)

Who would have thought that of Walter, right?
